Copywriting

Copywriting  provides written text for advertising and marketing. The product, called copy, is written content for increasing brand awareness.

This aims to influence and persuade a person or group to act on topics that appeal to them or address certain sought after solutions to a customer need.

Copywriters assist and create content for billboards, advertising, magazines, brochures, articles, letters, scripts, storyboards, commercials, social media posts and other relevant marketing communications and correspondence between Business-to-business (B2B) transactions, companies and their patrons.

Copywriters work as part of a creative team which partners in project management, alongside other art and creative directors. The copywriter writes a copy or script for an advertisement, based largely on information obtained from a client. The art director is responsible for visual aspects of the advertisement and, particularly in the case of print work, may oversee production. Collaboration is usually required from the team in creating the concept of the project.

A range of editorial and associated services are possible, including academic research, social media, SEO, developmental editing (coding), copy and grammar editing, proofreading, fact checking, citations (proper credit for sources), and layout.
